About Us

A Room With A Vieux Antiques opened its doors for business in the 1980's and is one of the leading French antique importers in the United States.  Bi-monthly buying trips to France provides ongoing access to antique furniture crafted in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries as well as the opportunity to locate attractive more recent pieces from the art deco and machine-age eras.  One-of-a-kind "objets d'art" are prominently featured in the inventory.

Top quality and a vast array of choices are A Room With A Vieux's trademarks. Selections of items ranges from formal to French country style as well as marquetry-inlaid to intricately carved items. The selection is suitable for apartment-size to mansion-size homes and is featured in private showings in its warehouse.

If a client is looking for a pair of French bergere armchairs, a desk, a dining room table, a console table, or an inlaid commode, there are typically multiple choices of each in stock.  If an individual is looking for a gold-leaf mirror, a crystal chandelier, a French country iron light fixture, a pair of wall sconces, or a side table, there are, at minimum, about ten or more of each in the inventory.  It is highly unusual, ever, for anyone to visit A Room With A Vieux and leave without commenting on the beauty, quality, and selection of the items.

A full complement of nine talented woodworking specialists (Restorers Without Borders),  often referred to as "woodworking magicians" are on staff on a full-time basis.  Antique items can be customized to suit client preferences and the workshop's slogan is "if you can dream it, we can make it happen".

They are available, as well, to assist in packaging and crating antiques for shipment to destinations throughout the world.
