A Room With A Vieux Antiques opened its doors in the 1980s and is one of
the leading French antique importers in the U.S. Bi-monthly buying trips
to France enable its proprietors to have immediate and ongoing access to
antique furniture from the 18th and 19th centuries
as well as pieces from the Art Deco era and one-of-a-kind objets d’art.

Careful attention to quality and variety is our trademark. The selection
of items for sale ranges from formal to country style and marquetry inlaid
to intricately carved. Our selection is vast and suitable for
apartment-size to mansion-size. The inventory is displayed in our two
storefront locations (Boston’s Beacon Hill and Brookline), as well as an
assortment of over three hundred pieces stored off site.
If you are looking for a pair of bergeres, a desk, a dining room table, a
console or a commode, we typically have at least ten of each in stock. If
you are looking for a mirror, a light fixture, a pair of sconces, or a
side table, we have, at minimum, twenty of each in our inventory. It is
unusual indeed, for anyone to visit one of our stores without commenting
on the beauty, quality and selection of our items.
We have created a specialty niche in bedroom furniture and tend to have
at all times over 100 beds in stock, 50 armoires, and a multitude of
nightstands and dressers available. Our “claim to fame” in this arena is
our ability to convert European beds to enable them to accommodate any
American queen and king size mattresses and box springs. We can also
convert armoires into entertainment centers custom-fitted to your
individual needs.
A full complement of restoration specialists are on staff on a full-time
basis. Additionally, we have a highly skilled crating department which
enables items to be carefully packaged for shipping to destinations
throughout the U.S. and Europe.
